We'll be constantly searching the public domain for unlikely and unexpected remarks and expressions that we see or hear in the news, literature, arts and entertainment, politicss, business, social media, and everyday conversations.

DEFINITION
For our purposes a 'Rare Phrase' is a statement or expression etc that you are extremely unlikely to hear these days in a world that takes itself far too seriously and is rapidly losing its sense of humor. A Rare Phrase doesn't have to be true or sensible or wise or witty, or anything else - it just has to be rare.
SEMANTICS NOTEWe know that 'phrase' is not a literally or technically correct description of every kind of human utterance or written expression. However, we take the liberty of using 'phrase' as an all-purpose word meaning statement, comment, observation, thought, quote, question, sentence, idiom, remark, term et al.

We've never expressed the phrases in this blog ourselves - they're other people's. We just heard them or read them somewhere. Rare Phrase doesn't condone or condemn the thoughts reproduced here. We simply gather and display them, for fun and amusement. We're not perfect, so we don't presume to judge others.
